Triggers: Blood, illness, or hallucinations, should be it. He's quite sick, and it's side effects are occur fairly often. If you don't want me to mention them, just say the word.
PERMISSIONS: OOC
BACKTAGGING: I'll probably do this a lot? I don't mind it.
THREADHOPPING: Sure! He doesn't really have any hacking capabilities at the moment anyways.
FOURTHWALLING: No thanks.
PERMISSIONS: IC
FLIRTING: You can try, but he's likely to take it at face value, or not notice at all
HUGGING/KISSING/ETC: Touching in general he'll be very stiff about, but don't be afraid to try!
FIGHTING/HURTING/INJURING: I'm good with the fighting, injuries or hurts I'd like to plot first.
TELEPATHY/MIND-READING: Sure.
HACKING: Sure, just not the Companion Sprite. The Sprite is semi-sentient, not quite an AI, but don't hack it. Drifter has no encryption skills, so his feeds are open.

Name: Drifter
Canon: Hyper Light Drifter
Canon Point: Just after clearing the North (as the 1st region), will change to post game later
Age: Unknown
History:
There is little to nothing known about Drifter's pre-game history, not even his name. He instead goes by his profession's name, a generic term used to describe collectors of forgotten knowledge, lost technologies and broken histories. In particular, he is looking for a panacea that would cure the vicious illness afflicting him and many others in the world, caused by the Immortal Cell.
Drifter's species is also unknown, concealed by the robes and mask he wears, but it can be inferred that his species is discriminated against in the world, for unknown reasons. There are also places in the game where others of Drifter’s species can be seen in suspension vats, perhaps being created by the Jackal God or some other ancient race’s old technology. Their role is unknown, but most likely played a significant role in the war caused by the rise of the Immortal Cell, likely on it's side.
The game starts with Drifter passing out from an illness induced hallucination, in which a black specter kills him. He is discovered and taken care of by another Drifter, titled Guardian, who brings him to their house in Central Town. After recovering, Drifter is given a map of the Lands of Buried Time with the locations of various modules marked on it. These are connected in some way to curing Drifter's illness, and so he sets out to find them and activate them, searching the North first. After killing the Hierophant, he returns the Central Town, then is taken by the Ingress.
Personality:
Drifter’s illness is the source of much of his personality, driving him to search with almost suicidal determination for modules, but also pushing him to help those who cannot help themselves. While he has no qualms about killing enemies, Drifter is not a remorseless killer, refusing to draw his sword within Central Town or around unarmed NPCs. If you attack first though, he fights to kill, aiming to end the fight as quickly as possible, a side effect of his illness.
Due to the nature of his profession, he is a lone wolf, used to roaming the land with no companions, and therefore has very little in the way of social etiquette due to having been a drifter for as long as he can remember. It has also made him extremely independent, though he'll take help when he can get it. Injuries are something he will ignore for as long as possible, whether because he lacks a medsyringe or is saving it. He won't die of blood loss, but he'll drip blood everywhere. It disappears by itself though. He can live critically wounded for longer than he has any right to, but one strong blow will knock him over the edge into death. When this happened in his home world, he 'blacks out', then is returned to a safe spot, presumably by the Jackal God, who is watching him for unknown reasons. Needless to say.Drifter has a lot of experience with dying.
When he ‘speaks’ he is often very curt when answering. Drifter is also accustomed to discrimination against his species. He doesn't know why, just that most will attack upon seeing his blue skin, so he covers it. The people of Central Town are more ambivalent toward it, but Drifter is still wary, and unlikely to take off any layers, regardless of the environment.
Abilities/Skills:
Drifter is an excellent fighter, proficient in the use of swords, guns, and explosives. He can ‘Drift’ (akin to an instant dash, range of 11-12 feet) allowing him to drift over large gaps and dodge melee and projectile attacks. Chain drifting allows him to drift without pause, increasing in speed the longer it is chained, though slamming into walls is a problem. He maintains a neural link with his Companion Sprite, allowing Drifter to communicate seamlessly through the Sprite projecting his words. Drifter can also activate and make use of warp pads, if any appear on the Moira. Though the Jackal God is not on the Moira to revive Drifter, death doesn't faze him, and he has no qualms about killing an enemy, which to him could be as simple as attacking without provacation.
He can carry 5 med syringes and 1 Roly Poly at a time, and has 6 shots on his pistol or 4 rail gun shots which recharge when he slices anything with his solid light sword.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Pros
• Proficient in the use of swords, guns, and explosives.
• Can ‘Drift’ (explained above)
• Companion Sprite capable of interfacing with technology
• Avid learner, historian, and explorer
• Extremely high pain tolerance
Cons
• Non-contagious serious illness (Side effects include weakened respiratory system, coughing up blood, and rare hallucinations)
• Glass cannon (has 5 hp in game)
• Doesn’t speak
• Doesn't heal without a medsyringe
• Lacks social etiquette/grace

[ The video has obviously been activated accidentally. Dizzying flips and spins are not for the faint of heart (or the easily nauseated) but you can get a front seat to Drifter's solid light sword cutting through simulation from careful watching can pinpoint the flash of blue accompanying Drifter's sword as cuts his way through the simulation. If you are bored or intel savvy enough (you know who you are), slight glitches become noticeable in the video, where the MID's video feed seems to blink, jumping around like it's lagging.
The entertainment doesn't last long though. A sudden jolt shakes the MID as the fighter gets nailed in the stomach by a harsh punch. It's not much, nothing a healthy warrior wouldn't shake off quickly, but instead the fighter doubles over, shaking the feed with the force of his coughs. The arm on which the MID is mounted drops the sword to cover it's owner's mouth, only to stain the camera lens pink with blood. The simulation pauses thankfully, due to safety protocol or something else, but the coughing fit shows no sign of stopping, blood starting to drip to the floor.
Almost as suddenly as it starts, the coughing fits ends, the sound of something hollow clattering against the floor easy to hear in the sudden silence. The video shows a brief image of a pink stained mask and surprised eyes before going dark. ]
[ A short message goes out to the network an hour later, accompanied by an image of Drifter. ]
